Vanar Robots, a startup based in Mumbai, India, has unveiled the prototype of its first-generation humanoid robot, called 1 Vanar Generation.
Designed as a humanoid biomechanical intelligence for organizational and home applications, the robot aims to perform real-world tasks with a combination of efficiency, flexibility, and adaptability.
Vanar Robots describes the project as “the first step towards indistinguishableness” and emphasizes that in the future it will build robots that blur the line between machine and human presence.
The Vanar Generation 1 is still in development and full technical details have not been released, but the company has said it plans to offer the robot at a price equivalent to a relatively affordable motorcycle. Future plans also include capabilities such as safely transporting humans in emergency or disaster situations.
