Fate of hundreds of Afghan medical students in Pakistan shrouded in uncertainty
Hundreds of Afghan medical students in Pakistan say the recent decision by the country’s medical council has raised serious concerns about their continued education and professional future.
These students, who are studying medicine and specialized courses at various universities in Pakistan, say that some of them have been studying for several years, and some are in their third, fourth, and final years of medical school.
They say they were legally admitted to Pakistani medical universities and spent years of time and money on their education.
The students are asking Afghan authorities to hold talks with Pakistani officials to clarify their fate and provide the means for them to continue their studies.
