The European Union has sent three helicopters and two water-spraying planes to Belgium to help contain a massive fire in the east.
The fire began on Friday in the Hai Fens nature reserve, Belgium’s largest protected natural area, and authorities have ordered residents of some villages to evacuate their homes.
Local farmers’ fire brigades and Belgian military forces are working to contain the fire, but have not yet succeeded in completely containing it.
