US issues passports with Trump’s image
The United States Department of State has announced that a limited number of passports will be printed with Donald Trump’s face on the occasion of the country’s 250th anniversary of independence.
According to a ministry spokesman, these passports will be issued in July as part of the celebration of the American Declaration of Independence.
The published images show that Trump’s face is placed on one of the passport’s inner pages next to an image of the signing of the Declaration of Independence in 1776.
Officials said the passports will be specially designed but will retain all the usual security features and will not incur any additional costs for issuance.
The State Department has not yet specified whether obtaining this type of passport will be optional for citizens. The move is seen as a continuation of efforts to include the president’s name or image on official documents.
Previously, the US Treasury Department had announced that commemorative coins and banknotes signed by Donald Trump would be issued.
