Elon Musk, CEO of Neuralink, has announced that the company’s new technology, called “Blindsight,” is engineering-ready and only awaits approval from regulatory agencies.
According to Musk, this technology is designed to provide vision to completely blind people, even those who have never had vision since birth.
Blindsight technology is intended to use a camera to capture images of the environment and convert visual information into signals that are transmitted to the brain and processed through a brain-computer interface.
If this technology receives the necessary approvals and is successful in clinical trials, it could create a new path in the treatment of blindness.
