Tucker Carlson, a conservative American journalist and political commentator, has claimed that the Donald Trump administration, under pressure from Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, may put a nuclear attack on Iran on the agenda in the coming days.
Carlsen said in a note that the likely target of this attack would be the Peak X mountain in central Iran, where, according to Israeli intelligence, Iran’s nuclear enrichment activities have resumed; he claimed that conventional US weapons are not capable of destroying the deep tunnels in this area and that Netanyahu is pressuring Washington to carry out a nuclear attack.
According to Carlsen, Netanyahu needs to continue the war due to domestic political problems and the possibility of losing power, and is trying to convince American officials to resume military operations against Iran. He also claimed that a number of Trump administration officials support Netanyahu’s position, while US Vice President Jed Vance and Trump’s special envoy Steve Whittaker support reaching an agreement with Iran.
Carlsen has warned that a nuclear attack on Iran could have catastrophic consequences for the region and the world, including polluting the waters of the Persian Gulf, exacerbating the energy crisis, and paving the way for the widespread use of nuclear weapons in other global conflicts.
He has also claimed that Trump may decide on the use of nuclear weapons by November 7th and has emphasized that an agreement with Iran is still possible despite the difficulty of negotiations.
