SDF forces withdraw from eastern Aleppo areas, Syrian army advances to Deir Hafer and Maskanah
According to Al Jazeera, the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) have withdrawn from the conflict lines in eastern Aleppo province, and the Syrian army is strengthening its positions to enter the cities of Deir Hafer and Maskanah. The Syrian military is trying to completely enter the city of Deir Hafer, located east of Aleppo.
The Syrian Ministry of Defense welcomed this withdrawal and announced that army units would be deployed in these areas as the SDF forces withdrew.
The purpose of this deployment is to secure the evacuated areas, enforce state sovereignty, and closely monitor the completion of the SDF withdrawal, along with all equipment and personnel, to the east of Lake Euphrates.
SDF commander Mazloum Abdi announced yesterday that his forces will withdraw from the current lines in eastern Aleppo towards the east of the Euphrates starting at 7 a.m. on Saturday.
He described this move as a sign of goodwill to complete the integration process and a commitment to implementing the provisions of the March 10 agreement.
