A member of the political bureau of the Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) emphasized that the Zionist regime, as the main responsible for the destruction of the Gaza Strip, must pay the costs of rebuilding the region.
These statements came in the wake of recent UN reports that described Gaza as one of the most contaminated areas in the world due to the presence of more than 20,000 rockets and unexploded bombs.
Hamas, citing the widespread destruction of infrastructure and homes as a result of Israeli attacks, called for international accountability and compensation for the damages caused to the people of Gaza.
This stance comes at a time when restrictions imposed on the entry of equipment into Gaza have posed serious challenges to reconstruction and relief efforts.
