As tensions in the region increase and US missions in West Asia issue security warnings, a national security analyst for the Sianan Network said that Donald Trump has discussed options for attacking Yemen in a meeting at Camp David.
CNN national security analyst Alex Plitsas wrote on X Network that Trump’s meeting at Camp David was held to review and discuss options for attacking Yemen, and that the US president returned to the White House earlier than planned after US embassies in the region issued security warnings; this claim has not yet been officially confirmed by the White House.
Reports indicate that a number of US missions in the region have warned of the possibility of escalating tensions and the risk of retaliatory attacks. The US State Department has also raised the level of security alerts in the countries of the region in recent days.
These developments are occurring as the conflict between Saudi Arabia and Houthi forces in Yemen has intensified in recent weeks, and missile and drone attacks on targets in Saudi Arabia have been reported.
Reuters also reported that Washington has so far refrained from direct military intervention against the Houthis and has focused on providing intelligence and security support to Saudi Arabia.
Previously, there were reports of Saudi Arabia asking the United States to take military action against the Houthis; however, American officials said that the Trump administration had no plans to directly attack the Houthis at that time.
If the US attack is carried out, the possibility of expanding the conflict in the region and increasing threats against American forces and facilities in West Asia has been raised; however, no credible and official report has been published yet regarding Washington’s final decision to launch the attack.
