New study in the US and Japan finds married people healthier and happier than single people

New research conducted by the University of Michigan and the University of Singapore shows that married people have better physical health and greater life satisfaction compared to single people.

The study, which examined data from nearly 5,000 adults in the United States and Japan over 20 years, confirms the impact of marriage on health and happiness, but also highlights the role of cultural and social factors such as family support or pressure.

According to Japanese news network NHK and scientific sources such as the journal Health Psychology, the findings showed that married people in both countries were less likely to suffer from chronic diseases and reported higher levels of life satisfaction.

The researchers emphasized that these results do not mean the absolute superiority of marriage, but rather indicate the importance of stable social relationships.

They warned that environmental factors such as economic or cultural pressure could moderate the positive effects of marriage.
