UN says ‘war crimes’ have increased in Myanmar

The United Nations says war crimes in Myanmar have increased significantly.

This organization has named torture, rape and arbitrary arrests as examples of war crimes in this country.

“We have gathered significant evidence that a horrific level of violence and brutality has occurred across Myanmar,” said Nicholas Komjian, head of the UN’s independent investigation structure.

Myanmar’s military government is increasingly committing war crimes such as torture and sexual violence in an effort to suppress the opposition, the report said.

Earlier, the Guardian reported that at least 200 Rohingya, including children, were killed and 300 wounded in an artillery and drone strike targeting civilians Others were wounded.
