Prince Andrew Andrew Mountbatten – Windsor arrested by British police
British police have arrested Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, the former British prince (Duke of York), on charges of misconduct in public office and connection to the Jeffrey Epstein case.
Several police vehicles and armed officers raided the royal estate of Sandringham, where the prince resided, and arrested him on the spot, the Daily Telegraph reported.
The latest documents released from the case of Jeffrey Epstein, a convicted child sex offender who died in prison in 2019, suggest that Prince Andrew sent sensitive and confidential information to Epstein. The communications are part of a wider investigation into Epstein’s sex trafficking network and influential people associated with him.
Prince Andrew was previously stripped of official royal duties due to his close friendship with Epstein and allegations of sexual abuse of a teenage girl that later ended in an out-of-court settlement in US civil court, but this is the first time he has been arrested on criminal charges.
British police officials have not yet announced the exact details of the charges and the possible time of their appearance in court, but the arrest has brought a wave of global media attention back to the Eastin case and the influential people associated with it.
