Ghazi Hamad, a member of the Hamas negotiating team, announced that the movement remains committed to preserving the rights of the Palestinian people and that the issue of resistance weapons is tied to the complete withdrawal of the Israeli regime from the Gaza Strip and the process of rebuilding the region.
He emphasized that the Zionist regime will have no role in the issue of disarmament, and that this responsibility will be the sole responsibility of a Palestinian national committee. According to him, no action will be taken to hand over weapons before Israel withdraws from Gaza.
At the same time, Al Jazeera and Al Mayadeen networks reported that, according to the draft Sharm El Sheikh agreement, Palestinian groups have agreed to begin the process of counting and registering heavy weapons, warehouses, military equipment production centers, and tunnels; this process must be completed within 14 days and will be linked to the withdrawal of Israeli forces from Gaza.
According to this report, no weapons will be delivered to the Zionist regime or non-Palestinian parties, and their control and maintenance will be under the sole control of the Palestinian National Committee.
