US President Donald Trump has said that his good relationship with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un is partly due to the country’s nuclear capability.
“I get along very well with Kim Jong Un,” Trump said at a campaign rally in Ohio, adding that when a country has 112 nuclear missiles, it is important to maintain good relations with that country’s leader.
However, Trump has not explained what exactly he means by the number 112, and this figure differs from his previous statistics on North Korea’s nuclear arsenal; different sources have also estimated the number of nuclear warheads in the country differently.
Trump went on to compare North Korea to Iran, saying, “But the difference is, Iran will never have a nuclear missile.” He also said about Iran that Washington must decide between an easy path or a hard path with this country.
