The CNN News Network reported that Tehran, the capital of Iran, held a public funeral for the country’s former leader on the second morning, with thousands of mourners attending the ceremony to pay their respects.
According to published images, mourners gathered on Sunday at the Grand Mosque in Tehran to pay their last respects to the late Iranian leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, and the mourning ceremony is still ongoing.
The report adds that the prayer ceremony was held in the early hours of the morning local time at the “Grand Imam Khomeini Mosque,” where Ayatollah Khamenei’s body had been placed for public farewell since Saturday.
