Reuters: Iran to target undersea internet cables in Persian Gulf if war breaks out again

Reuters news agency, citing two senior Iranian security officials, reported that Tehran has drawn up plans to target submarine communication cables in the Persian Gulf in the event of renewed war; the officials said these plans also include preventing repair and reconstruction operations on the cables.

The two officials did not provide specific details about where and how the attacks would be carried out, but one of them told Reuters that if Iran were attacked, there would be no red lines and that submarine cables and military bases would be legitimate targets.

Meanwhile, the foreign ministers of eight countries, including Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, Egypt, Britain, France, Germany, and Italy, have called on the United States and the Israeli regime to refrain from attacking Iran again, at a meeting in Istanbul.

According to a report by The Guardian newspaper, participants in the meeting also warned that the resumption of fighting would cause oil prices to rise.
