Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf, the Speaker of the Islamic Consultative Assembly of Iran, said in a meeting with the Vice President of the Chinese People’s Congress that the Islamic Republic of Iran will not allow any US interference in the Strait of Hormuz.
During this meeting, he appreciated the presence of the Chinese delegation at the ceremony to pay tribute to the Iranian leader and emphasized the expansion of political and economic cooperation between Tehran and Beijing.
Qalibaf has said that improving strategic relations between Iran and China can be effective in reducing regional and global tensions, and that parliamentary relations between the two countries need further development.
He also emphasized the need for close coordination between Iran and China on regional issues, especially the Persian Gulf, referring to recent developments.
In contrast, He Wei, Vice Chairman of the Chinese People’s Congress, while expressing condolences to Iran, described the relations between the two countries as “long-standing friendship” and emphasized the expansion of bilateral cooperation in the coming years.
