Lebanese protests against initial agreement with Israel turn violent with security forces intervening

Lebanese sources have reported that popular protests in Beirut in opposition to the Lebanese government’s initial agreement with the Israeli regime have entered a violent phase with the intervention of security forces.

According to these reports, Lebanese security forces have used batons and tear gas to disperse the protesters, which has led to increased tensions in some areas of the country’s capital.

The protests began after the news of the signing of the initial framework agreement between the Lebanese government and the Israeli regime was released, and protesters gathered around government buildings to express their opposition to the terms of the agreement.

Reports indicate that the atmosphere of protest continues in some areas of Beirut and security measures have been tightened across the city.
