Death toll from Saudi airstrike on Yemeni market rises to 14
The death toll from a Saudi airstrike on the al-Hazm market in Al-Jawf province has risen to 14, including three children and two women, wounding 15 others, including women and children, a spokesman for the Yemeni health ministry said.
According to the spokesman, since the beginning of the new round of clashes in Al-Jawf Province alone, 100 people have been martyred and 86 others have been injured. He called the targeting of civilians in residential areas and service and commercial facilities a violation of international humanitarian law.
Meanwhile, Mohammed al-Bakhiti, a senior member of the Yemeni Ansarullah movement, said in response to the attack that “the crimes of the Saudi enemy will not go unanswered.”
Al-Bakhiti considered the targeting of the public market a sign of Saudi Arabia’s hostility towards the Yemeni people and condemned the country’s indifference to the killing of civilians; he also criticized the silence of governments and organizations that, he said, remained indifferent to this incident.
