Maulana Fazlur Rehman, leader of the Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Pakistan party, has criticized the role of Khawaja Asif, the country’s defense minister, in recent developments and questioned the presence of the Pakistani interior minister in defense meetings abroad.
In his speech in the Senate of Pakistan, he said that the defense and foreign ministers are present inside the country, but the interior minister travels abroad to participate in defense meetings.
Maulana Fazlur Rehman, asking whether participating in defense meetings is one of the duties of the Interior Minister, said to Khawaja Asif: “What is your status and prestige? Do you have any shame or modesty?”
The leader of the Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Pakistan also described the role of the country’s defense minister as symbolic and shameful and criticized the performance of Pakistani officials in this regard.
