WhatsApp receives important security update, enabling “strict account settings”
WhatsApp has introduced a new security feature called “Strict Account Settings” in a new update, which provides additional layers of protection against cyberattacks.
This feature is designed specifically for users who are at high risk of cyberattacks, including journalists, political activists, celebrities, and individuals who are the targets of targeted attacks.
By enabling these settings, attachments and files sent by unknown people other than saved contacts will be automatically blocked, and incoming calls from unfamiliar numbers other than contacts will be silenced and will not be notified.
This feature is part of WhatsApp’s ongoing efforts to increase user security against sophisticated phishing hacking techniques and targeted cyberattacks.
Users can enable these settings from the privacy and security section in the WhatsApp app.
