Trump agrees to 28-point Ukraine peace plan, territorial concessions and arms restrictions in exchange for security guarantees
NBC reported that US President Donald Trump this week agreed to a 28-point plan to end the war in Ukraine.
The plan, developed with the participation of American officials such as Steve Witkoff, Gideon, Marco Rubio, and Jared Kushner, includes territorial concessions from Kiev and restrictions on the armament of the Ukrainian army.
According to the Financial Times, the plan has faced serious opposition from the Ukrainian government, and Kiev officials have deemed its implementation impossible without “fundamental changes.”
Reuters also reported, citing informed sources, that the US plan calls for the cession of part of eastern Ukraine’s territory, even areas not yet under Russian control, such as parts of Donbas, and restrictions on some types of weapons by Kiev.
A US official told Axios that the plan would offer US security guarantees for Ukraine and Europe against potential Russian attacks in exchange for the surrender of these areas.
