A fire and explosion at a garbage collection site in Tainan, Taiwan, injured 13 people and damaged several homes and vehicles.
The incident occurred on Saturday morning in an empty lot in the Annan district. The fire, which ignited garbage, led to an explosion and spread to nearby houses.
The injured included three firefighters and 10 local residents, and officials said most of them suffered superficial injuries and burns; all 13 injured were released from the hospital after treatment.
Local authorities are investigating the exact cause of the incident, and initial investigations indicate the presence of aluminum-magnesium alloy and used oils at the scene.
