The Turkish Ministry of Defense announced that 20 of its soldiers lost their lives in a military plane crash in Georgia yesterday evening (Tuesday, November 11, 2025).
The incident, which occurred in the Sighnaghi district of Georgia’s Kakheti region, is considered Türkiye’s deadliest military accident of 2020.
Turkish and Georgian authorities have launched a joint investigation at the crash site, but the exact cause of the disaster has not yet been announced.
The identities of the victims have not yet been officially released, and Ankara has promised to provide more details once the initial investigation is complete.
