Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has announced that its Aerospace Force has downed two American MQM-170 reconnaissance drones south of Qeshm Island using advanced electronic warfare systems.
According to the announcement of the Revolutionary Guards, these two drones have been safely brought under the control of Iranian forces, bringing the number of American drones of this type that have been captured by Iran to four.
The Revolutionary Guards said in a separate statement that they had also detected and destroyed an American MQ-9 drone east of the Strait of Hormuz.
According to the organization, the drone in question was the 55th American MQ-9 drone to be targeted by the IRGC Aerospace Force’s air defense system operating within the framework of Iran’s integrated air defense network.
