Researchers say 3 minutes of high-speed running can be more effective than 90 minutes of moderate exercise
Researchers at Rockefeller University have announced that a few minutes of intense exercise, such as high-speed running, can produce more extensive molecular changes in the body than 90 minutes of moderate-intensity exercise.
Based on this research, intense exercise causes changes in hundreds of proteins and metabolites related to blood vessel growth, tissue regeneration, and metabolic regulation.
Researchers say many of these changes are linked to a reduced risk of metabolic and heart disease, as well as slowing the biological aging process.
