Iran deal has entered its second phase

US President Donald Trump, in a meeting with Qatari Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, announced that the agreement between Iran and the United States has entered its second phase, describing it as “fair” and “positive.”

Trump also stated that he had told Israeli officials that he was not satisfied with the attack on Beirut and that now was the time for Benjamin Netanyahu to act more responsibly towards Lebanon.

He claimed that he had suggested to Israel that it hand over the management of the Hezbollah file to Syria and once again criticized Tel Aviv’s handling of developments in Lebanon.

In another part of his speech, the US President, referring to Washington’s support for Israel, said: “If it weren’t for me, Israel wouldn’t exist.”

During the same meeting, the Emir of Qatar emphasized the importance of continuing negotiations between Tehran and Washington and expressed hope that completing the dialogue process would lead to positive results for the region.

The two sides also emphasized the expansion of economic cooperation and Qatar’s role in mediating and resolving regional crises.
