UAE denies report of release of Iranian assets
The United Arab Emirates’ Foreign Ministry denied reports that the country had agreed to release billions of dollars in Iranian assets.
The UAE Foreign Ministry statement emphasized that none of Iran’s assets have been released or moved, and that the reports published in this regard are not true.
This denial comes at a time when Reuters news agency, citing several informed sources, claimed that the UAE had agreed to release some of Iran’s frozen assets, and that this move came as negotiations between Tehran and Washington progressed.
Reuters also claimed that the value of these assets is estimated to be between $10 and $20 billion, and part of it has already been transferred to Iran.
However, Emirati officials have denied these claims and emphasized that there has been no change in the status of Iranian assets.
Meanwhile, speculation continues about the progress of the Iran-US negotiations and the possibility of releasing Iran’s financial resources, but so far no official and joint announcement has been made by the relevant parties in this regard.
