Uzbekistan sends 320 tons of humanitarian aid to Afghanistan

On the occasion of Eid al-Adha, a 320-ton shipment of humanitarian aid from the Republic of Uzbekistan was delivered to local authorities in Balkh province at Hairatan Port.

The Media and Information Center of the Balkh provincial government has announced that this aid includes 10 items of food, including 96 tons of flour, 22 tons of rice, 15,000 liters of oil, 22 tons of sugar, 22 tons of chickpeas, 22 tons of pasta, and thousands of packages of biscuits and canned meat.

The ceremony to deliver this aid was attended by Maulvi Nurul Hadi Abu Adris, Deputy Governor of Balkh Province, Ismatullah Irgashov, Special Representative of the President of Uzbekistan for Afghanistan Affairs, and a number of officials from both sides.

The deputy governor of Balkh province, appreciating this aid, considered it a sign of friendly and brotherly relations between Afghanistan and Uzbekistan, and said that this aid arrived in Afghanistan at a time when a number of northern provinces were affected by floods and at the same time, the return of refugees has increased the needs.

He emphasized that this aid will be distributed transparently to needy families, especially in Balkh province and other northern provinces.

Meanwhile, Ismatullah Irgashov said that this aid was sent to the people of Afghanistan under the guidance of Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev and its aim is to strengthen good-neighborly relations, friendship, and cooperation between the two countries.
