US President Donald Trump has claimed that the deal with Iran is “almost final” and its final stages are being reviewed.
Referring to the negotiations mediated by Pakistan, Trump said that an agreement between the United States, Iran, and several other countries has been largely negotiated and its final details will be announced soon.
He also claimed that under this agreement, the Strait of Hormuz will remain open and that he has held good negotiations with officials from Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Pakistan, Turkey, Egypt, Jordan, and Bahrain regarding Iran.
At the same time, the Axios website reported, citing a regional source, that Arab and Muslim leaders called on Trump to accept the agreement and end the war in the region.
The source added that negotiations are progressing well and that mediators hope to finalize and announce the initial framework of the agreement soon.
The New York Times also reported, citing three Iranian officials, that the new agreement would include a cessation of war and conflict on all fronts.
According to this report, the Iranian nuclear issue will be postponed to another stage in the future, and this agreement could lead to the release of $25 billion in Iranian assets frozen abroad.
The New York Times added that Pakistan and Qatar played a mediating role in facilitating and preparing the draft of this agreement.
