The Wall Street Journal reported that US President Donald Trump has agreed to a long-term nuclear deal with Saudi Arabia, an agreement that would give Riyadh access to a civilian nuclear program and the possibility of building a uranium enrichment capacity.
According to the report, this 30-year agreement, estimated to be worth tens of billions of dollars, will involve American companies in the development of Saudi Arabia’s nuclear program and include mechanisms to monitor the peaceful use of this technology.
The Wall Street Journal added that the possibility of building uranium enrichment facilities in Saudi Arabia by American companies after conducting joint feasibility studies will be among the provisions of the agreement.
The agreement is set to be signed by US Energy Secretary Chris Wright and Saudi Energy Minister Abdulaziz bin Salman.
