British Prime Minister Keir Starmer announced his resignation in an emergency speech in front of 10 Downing Street on Monday morning.
Starmer has also confirmed that he will continue as Prime Minister until Parliament returns in September.
The decision comes after months of pressure and criticism of his performance from both members of the Labour Party and opposition parties.
Reports indicate that increasing political pressure and internal disputes were the main factors behind Starmer’s resignation from the leadership of the British government.
