Organization of Islamic Cooperation emphasizes continued support for the people of Afghanistan

The Organization of Islamic Cooperation announced its participation in the Coordination Group on Afghanistan meeting in Doha and once again emphasized its continued support for the Afghan people.

According to the organization’s press release, the OIC delegation at this meeting highlighted the organization’s key priorities for Afghanistan based on relevant resolutions; these priorities include educating girls, combating terrorism, nutrition and food security, and providing humanitarian and economic assistance.

The organization also reiterated its commitment to constructive engagement with the current Afghan government in these areas.

The Organization of Islamic Cooperation also emphasized the importance of continuing cooperation with international partners, including the United Nations, the World Bank, and the European Union, to provide humanitarian and economic assistance to Afghanistan in a coherent and coordinated manner.
