Nightly protests in Beirut after signing of initial agreement between Lebanese government and Israel

After the news of the signing of the initial framework agreement between the Lebanese government and the Israeli regime was published, a wave of protests began in Beirut, and protesters surrounded the Government House building, the seat of the Lebanese government; reports indicate that the scope of the protests is rapidly expanding to different areas of the Lebanese capital.

According to the published provisions of this agreement, the Lebanese government has pledged to completely disarm Hezbollah and other non-state armed groups, in return for which the Israeli regime has pledged to withdraw its forces from the targeted areas after verification and in several stages, a process that will be carried out under the supervision of the United States.

According to information, Israel did not provide a specific binding commitment in this agreement for the time of the complete withdrawal of its forces and made the implementation of this process conditional on its assessment and verification of the completion of disarmament.
