After expressing optimism about the possibility of an agreement with Iran, US President Donald Trump recently denied the published details of the understanding, claiming that the information published in the media has nothing to do with the terms of the written agreement.
In a message on the social network “Truth Social,” Trump claimed that the conditions leaked to the media by Iran differed from what was agreed upon in writing between the parties.
He also called the published statements about reaching an agreement false and accused Iran of being dishonest in the negotiation process.
The US President further claimed that a drone attack on Indian ships near the Strait of Hormuz had been thwarted; a claim that has not yet been met with an official response from Iranian officials.
These statements come at a time when no Iranian official has yet confirmed the finalization of the agreement between Tehran and Washington, and the Iranian Foreign Ministry has also announced that no conclusions have yet been reached regarding the final agreement.
At the same time, some media outlets, including Iran’s Mehr News Agency, have published details of a 14-point draft of a possible understanding between Iran and the United States, which includes a cessation of hostilities, a gradual lifting of restrictions, and continued negotiations to reach a final agreement.
However, neither side has yet officially confirmed the authenticity of this draft, and the status of the negotiations remains shrouded in uncertainty.
