Heavy rains cause flooding in Indiana and Kentucky

Heavy and sustained rainfall in parts of the US states of Indiana and Kentucky has caused flooding, putting millions of people at risk of flooding.

According to warnings from the US National Weather Service, about 36 million people in the Midwest are under flood warnings.

Weather agencies in the states of Kentucky, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa and Tennessee have warned of continued heavy rainfall, saying some areas could receive more than four inches of additional rainfall.

Flash flooding continues in parts of Kentucky and several areas of Indiana, and weather officials have reported continued flood risk in a number of counties.
