US Central Command (CENTCOM) has announced that it has intercepted Iranian attacks and carried out defensive strikes in response.
CENTCOM claimed that the attacks took place as US guided-missile destroyers passed through the Strait of Hormuz towards the Sea of Oman.
In contrast, the Iranian Revolutionary Guards Navy Command has announced that, based on intelligence information, American forces have suffered heavy losses in recent clashes.
The IRGC added that three US-affiliated vessels have quickly withdrawn from the Strait of Hormuz area.
Meanwhile, Tasnim news agency reported, citing a military source, that Iranian naval attacks against American destroyers in the Sea of Oman are continuing.
