Attack on Mahshahr Petrochemical Special Zone and Imam Khomeini Port
The deputy security officer for the governor of Khuzestan, Iran, announced that around noon today (Saturday, 4th of April ), three major hits and explosions occurred in the petrochemical special economic zone in Mahshahr district.
Minutes later, the Bandar Imam Khomeini Petrochemical Company was attacked by an airstrike, and parts of it were damaged.
HSE and fire rescue forces were immediately dispatched to the scene and firefighting operations are underway.
So far, 5 injuries have been reported in these attacks.
The Iranian Petrochemical Special Economic Zone Organization announced that, based on the decision of the emergency committee, forces from all industrial sectors active in the zone have been evacuated.
The organization emphasized that the incidents did not pose a danger to citizens or neighboring cities, and that people should refrain from paying attention to rumors and follow news from official sources.
