Trump claims that if Iran does not open the Strait of Hormuz within the next 48 hours, we will destroy the country’s power plants
US President Donald Trump claimed in a message on social media that if Iran does not fully open the Strait of Hormuz within the next 48 hours, Iranian power plants will be targeted by US attacks.
He emphasized that if this vital route continues to be closed, Iran’s largest factories will be destroyed in the first stage; this threat reflects an unprecedented escalation of tensions between the two sides.
The closure of the Strait of Hormuz, through which about one-fifth of the world’s oil and gas is transported, has caused a sharp increase in energy prices in global markets and heightened concerns about an energy crisis.
The IRGC’s Khatam al-Anbiya military headquarters, which directs the war against the United States and Israel, announced in response to Trump’s 48-hour deadline that if Iran’s fuel and energy infrastructure is targeted, “all US and Israeli energy, information technology, and desalination infrastructure in the region will be targeted.”
These developments are occurring at a time when tensions have entered a new and dangerous stage following reciprocal attacks between Iran and Israel, and reports indicate Iran’s use of long-range rockets.
Eyal Zamir, the Chief of Staff of the Israeli Army, said that these rockets are capable of reaching targets beyond the Middle East and could also pose a threat to European cities.
At the same time, Iranian rocket attacks on southern Israel, including Dimona and Arad, left dozens injured and caused heavy damage to the regime’s infrastructure.
