Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif met with Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev in Bishkek and stressed the importance of the Afghan-Pakistan Uzbekistan-Afghanistan Trans railway project.
Sharif called for an accelerated joint feasibility study of the project, saying the railway could connect Uzbekistan to Pakistani ports via Afghanistan and play an important role in expanding regional connectivity between Central and South Asia.
The meeting took place on the sidelines of the meeting of the Council of Heads of State of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization in Bishkek.
