UNESCO, with support from the European Union, launches a €4.7 million project to train literacy and vocational skills in Afghanistan
The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), with funding from the European Union, has launched a project worth 4.7 million euros to provide literacy and vocational skills training to 7,500 youth and adults in five provinces of the country.
According to the UNESCO announcement, this program specifically targets members of returnee communities and host communities and will be implemented in five provinces of the country.
Participants in this project will receive a combination of literacy and practical livelihood skills training designed based on local economic needs and opportunities.
UNESCO emphasized that this initiative is developed with a flexible, community-based approach and fully aligned with the principles of Do No Harm, and aims to sustainably empower individuals and local communities.
