Maduro accuses US of planning to bomb and occupy Venezuela
Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro, in a harsh statement against the United States, claimed that the US government intends to bomb and occupy a Christian nation like Venezuela, and where did it get this idea from?
Maduro added in his recent speech: “American authorities want to save others with weapons; you save yourself first. We know what to do with Venezuela.”
The remarks come as the US Navy announced that the USS Gerald R. Ford aircraft carrier strike group, the world’s most advanced aircraft carrier, has entered the Caribbean Sea, amid rising tensions with Venezuela.
The ship, which has left the Mediterranean, is part of the largest US military buildup in the region in decades, and includes about 15,000 American troops, bombers and warships.
According to sources, this deployment has been described as a pressure tactic on Maduro and has taken place at the same time as US attacks on suspected drug-smuggling ships in the region, which have resulted in the deaths of dozens of people.
