Politico, citing data from the US Energy Information Administration, reported that the European Union may face a gas shortage in the coming winter and will be forced to find alternative sources to compensate for the reduction in energy supply.
According to the report, the level of gas reserves in the European Union’s underground storage facilities is slightly above 70 percent of capacity, which, according to the publication, is the lowest level of reserves on the eve of winter since 2011.
