Donald Trump picks Katie Zakaria as White House press secretary
A White House official has announced that US President Donald Trump has selected conservative commentator Katie Zakaria to serve as the next White House press secretary.
Zachariah is set to replace Carolyn Leavitt, who stepped down from the position after the birth of her second child at the end of August.
The New York Times was the first media outlet to report Zakaria’s selection, however, it is not yet clear whether he has accepted the offer.
Zakaria previously served as a spokesperson for the US Department of Homeland Security and is now a communications consultant for the Trump Media and Technology Group, the company that owns the social network Truth Social.
