Trump: We may attack the Koh Kalang facility in Iran in the near future

US President Donald Trump has once again threatened Iran with an attack on the “Kuh Kalang” nuclear facility in the Natanz district of Isfahan, saying that the US may target this facility in the near future.

This facility, located deep in the mountain, is said to hold about 400 kilograms of enriched nuclear material, according to American and Israeli officials; however, detailed information about the depth of the fortification and internal structure of the facility is not available, making any potential attack very dangerous and complex.

Trump’s new threat comes at a time when an attack on Iran’s nuclear facilities, especially underground centers, faces serious practical and intelligence limitations, and it is unclear whether an air strike can achieve Washington’s desired goals.

By repeating this threat, Trump appears to be trying to keep his narrative about weakening Iran’s nuclear program alive; however, any new military action could have far-reaching consequences for regional security, the Strait of Hormuz, and the global energy market.
