EU: Dialogue with Islamic Emirate on return of Afghan refugees is essential
Magnus Brunner, the European Union’s migration chief, announced that Europe has no choice but to negotiate with the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan to return rejected Afghan refugees.
According to European media reports, the European Union’s invitation to officials from the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan to Brussels for talks on the issue of migration has been met with criticism, but Brunner defended the move and considered it to be in the interests of European countries.
He emphasized that these talks do not mean recognizing the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, but are aimed at addressing immigration issues and finding practical solutions for returning refugees.
Brunner also added that many EU member states support holding these talks and want more cooperation on migration management.
The European Commission has also announced that the invitation to Islamic Emirate officials to Brussels was made within the framework of efforts to combat illegal immigration and accelerate the process of expelling rejected immigrants.
