US Justice Department calls threat against Trump plane an ‘attempted assassination’
The US Department of Justice has described a missile threat against President Donald Trump’s plane last month, which led to his secret transfer to another plane, as an “attempted assassination” in a new filing.
US Attorney General John Sawyer raised this issue in his emergency petition to the country’s Supreme Court, asking the justices to lift the legal ban on the construction of the Grand Ballroom at the White House.
In the petition, Sair argued that the increasing security threats against the US president indicate that the project should proceed without delay.
According to him, in addition to the ceremonial hall, the new complex will also include an underground military facility and a drone base.
