Russia warns Japan to stop hostile actions
Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova called on Tokyo to change its approach and stop hostile actions on Tuesday evening, in response to the arrest of a Japanese journalist in Russia on charges of espionage.
Zakharova said in a statement that Japan’s attempts to use journalists for espionage and intelligence gathering with the aim of undermining Russia’s security were regrettable.
According to Sputnik, a spokesman for the Russian Foreign Ministry warned that this incident could be another factor in worsening relations between Moscow and Tokyo.
