IRAP: Many Afghan refugees and former US colleagues remain in limbo

On the eve of the fifth anniversary of the withdrawal of US troops from Afghanistan, the International Legal Assistance and Advocacy for Refugees (IRAP) says that many Afghan refugees and former colleagues of US forces are still in limbo outside the country.

The organization said that restrictions imposed by the Donald Trump administration, including travel bans and suspension of immigrant visas, have seriously hindered the process of transferring Afghan citizens, including Special Immigrant Visa (SIV) applicants, to the United States.

IRAP has called on the US Congress to take necessary measures to support Afghan refugees and former Afghan colleagues.
