Libya’s National Oil Company has announced that the oil blending and packaging plant at the Al-Zawiya refinery was targeted by a drone attack on Tuesday morning.
Al-Burqa Oil Company has also said that one of the refinery’s tanks was hit, but the origin of the attack is still unknown.
Al Jazeera reported, citing local sources, that the incident caused significant financial damage but no casualties.
Reuters also reported an explosion in a fuel tank at the Al-Zawiya refinery, saying the cause of the explosion was not yet known.
